Aura Mayari is a Filipino-American drag performer and one of the contestants of the fifteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race.
Drag Name Origin[]
"Aura" is Filipino slang for someone who's overacting, overly confident or attention seeking. Aura felt that that description matched her drag.[1] In Kapampangan mythology, Mayari is the goddess of the moon and ruler of the world during nighttime.[5] In her Meet The Queens, Aura refers to herself as the "Filipina Moon Goddess" so it can be assumed that is where Mayari comes from in her name.

- Aura was inspired to do drag when watching Manila Luzon compete on Season 3.[1]
- Aura Mayari is the second contestant in the Drag Race franchise to be named "Aura" after Aura Eternal from the second season of Drag Race Italia.
- Aura briefly went by the name "Courtney Slays" when she first started doing drag because she was approached by bar owners/managers asking who she was and she hadn't come up with a drag name yet. She said her friends had been calling her "Courtney" all night and were saying she was slaying.
- Aura is the 9th queen to be eliminated the episode after having won a Maxi Challenge.
- She is preceded by Ongina, Jessica Wild, Stacy Layne Matthews, Laganja Estranja, Katya, Derrick Barry, Miz Cracker, and Nina West.
- Tatianna accomplished this twice during All Stars 2.
