Hey, Baby,[5] formerly known as Baby and now professionally as ROM-1,[6] is a former British drag performer, rapper, songwriter, singer and one of the contestants of the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Drag Name Origin[]

The name Hey, Baby comes from being the youngest sibling out of five and they were always referred to as ‘the baby’. So, when they needed to come up with a drag name in a lip sync competition at university, they thought of “Baby”.[1]

The name "ROM-1" comes from their real name, Romone.[6]

  • Hey, Baby studied at the Brit School, a creative arts school in Croydon whose alumni includes Adele, Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, Leona Lewis, Imogen Heap and FKA Twigs.
    • Hey, Baby's fellow alum FKA Twigs was coincidentally a guest judge on episode 2 of UK Season 4 where Baby professed their love for Twigs' music.
  • Hey, Baby is the second contestant from RuPaul's Drag Race UK to quit the competition, after Ginny Lemon.
    • However, they are the first to do so after lip syncing.
    • They are also the first to quit the competition and not return for the finale.
  • Hey, Baby was voted by their fellow castmates as the PopBuzz Prom Queen (formerly Miss Congeniality) in the Drag Race Yearbook.
