The first season of Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs The World was officially announced by Bell Media and Canada's Drag Race social media accounts on June 9, 2022.[1][2]
On October 17, 2022, the cast of Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs The World was revealed, with nine queens from around the Drag Race franchise competing in the series for the chance to win $100,000 and the title of Queen of the Mother-Pucking World, with Canada being the host nation. In the same occasion, a premiere date of November 18, 2022 was announced.[3] The promo theme was Disco.[4] Nations featured this season include Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
At the finale, Ra'Jah O'Hara was crowned Queen of the Mother-Pucking World, winning $100,000 and a crown and scepter from Amped Accessories. Silky Nutmeg Ganache placed as runner-up, and Rita Baga and Victoria Scone placed 3rd/4th.
On January 11, 2023, Anita Wigl'it was announced as the winner of the title of Miss Congeniality via the Canada's Drag Race X account.[5]

- This season's time of filming began around April 23, 2022 and lasted until May 22, 2022 when the queens returned to social media.
- Some of the queens who were invited to compete on this season but declined include; Elecktra Bionic, the winner of Drag Race Italia Season 1, Envy Peru, the winner of Drag Race Holland Season 1, along with RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 2 Tayce (Runner-Up), and Tia Kofi. [8][9][10]
- Trinity K. Bonet was originally supposed to be a part of the final cast, but was unable to take part due to medical issues that forced her to pull out of the cast last minute.[11]
