To add references, the {{Ref}} template is used (bordered with <ref> tags like so: <ref>{{Ref}}</ref>).
Here is a guide on how to use it:
- Description
This template is used for all references in the Wiki, providing a consistent system for displaying a citation with a link, date, news source and other relevant info about the citation.

- Syntax
|lang=
- This is the language parameter, which has to be specified only if it's not English, and you need to put it as an ISO 639 language code (you can find them all here), so you'll put "ES" for Spanish, "IT" for Italian, "ZH" for Chinese and so on. Remember that they have to be in capital letters, and that references like someone's social media profile don't need a language to be specified.
|link=
- This is pretty straightforward, just the link to your source.
|title=
- The title to your reference. If it's an article, a YouTube video, a Reddit post (which is similar to an article as it has a title, as opposed to an Instagram or Facebook post) or something like that, you just copy-paste the article/video/post title. If it's a regular social media post, you'll have to write "Post by [username]" where the username should be WITHOUT the @ that some platforms use. If the ref is a social media profile, then you're gonna write "Profile of [username]" (and NOT "Account of [username]"). Pay close to attention to the capitalization here (i.e. "Post by") and remember that while Twitter allows username to have capital letters (e.g. "Post by DragQueen"), Instagram and Facebook don't (e.g. "Post by dragqueen") and this must be reflected in the refs.
|pub=
- This is the website, magazine or platform where the ref is on, so just "Facebok" or "Twitter", "Vanity Fair", "YouTube", "New York Times" etc.
|day=
|month=
|year=
- Pretty self-explanatory, just the date (expressed in numbers, of course) the ref was published on, so something like "|day=3|month=5|year=2018" for May 3, 2018. Remember that social media profiles don't need a date to be specified, and of course if whatever the page is doesn't specify a date of posting.
|time=
- This is definitely the lesser used parameter, and it's for specifying a timestamp in a YouTube (or similar platform like Vimeo or whatever) video or even a podcast or something of the sort. So you'll write something like "10:12" if the info you're pointing at is at timestamp 10 and 12 seconds. Remember that the timestamp should also be included in the link (this article explains how to do that for YouTube).
Of course, then we put everything in one line to keep it all tidy, as the line breaks are not needed and just stretch out the page unnecessarily. Out of these, |link=, |title= and |pub= are the only ones you'll always need, with |day=|month=|year= not being necessary in the aforementioned cases, the |lang= parameter only when it's not in English (or when the page isn't displayed in just one specific language, like a social media profiles), and |time= only in the cases mentioned before.
