Though queens are usually eliminated after losing a LSFYL, there have been exceptions due to the former format of the final.
In the first three finals of the regular series, the worst-performing queen out of the top three would be eliminated by RuPaul before the Top 2 would lip-sync before the crown. The same rule has applied in most of the All Stars seasons (albeit with four finalists instead of three), and so far the UK series has followed this rule too.
RuPaul also has the power to eliminate two queens at once in a LSFYL, if both queens give underwhelming performances in the lip-sync. This has, so far, happened twice (both times in the regular US series):
- Season 5: Honey Mahogany and Vivienne Pinay (Episode 4)
- Season 8: Dax Exclamationpoint and Laila McQueen (Episode 2)
