Charlie Hides is a drag performer from Boston, Massachusetts and one of the 14 queens to compete on the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. They were the third queen to be eliminated and ended up finishing in 12th place.

Charlie is the oldest contestant to compete in RuPaul’s Drag Race herstory. An established performer who splits her time between the USA and the UK, Charlie describes her comedy as “rude, crude and socially unacceptable.” She routinely impersonates celebrities such as Cher, Madonna and Lady Gaga, and recently made an appearance in the Absolutely Fabulous movie.[3]

  • Charlie stated that it was so cold in the studio that their vocal cords got weak during filming.
  • Charlie's promo look was inspired by Julie Newmar and milliner Philip Treacy. [4]
  • Charlie holds the distinction of being the oldest queen to compete on any version of Drag Race by date of birth, having been born in 1964.
  • Charlie is the oldest queen to compete on the US version of RuPaul's Drag Race, aged 52 at the time of filming, and therefore also the oldest queen on Season 9.
  • During the final rehearsal for the main challenge of Episode 2, Charlie's rib cracked, but they did not tell the producers or a doctor as they did not want to be sent home because of it.
  • Charlie came out as gay not long before the AIDS crisis and has lost many close friends to HIV.
  • In Episode 4 of Untucked, Charlie revealed they would have portrayed Joan Rivers for Snatch Game.
  • Charlie's looks are often accompanied by a neon blue wig and a name tag.
