The third season of Drag Race France was officially announced by World of Wonder on October 17, 2023.[2] Casting opened on October 19, 2023, with a deadline of November 10 of the same year.[3]
On April 24, 2024, the cast was officially revealed.[4] Alongside the cast announcement, the official Drag Race France Instagram account confirmed that Daphné Bürki and Kiddy Smile would be returning as regular judges alongside Nicky Doll who would be returning as host and judge.[5] It was confirmed via news outlets that among other returning Maxi Challenges, the Season 2 Mini Challenge Le talon faible hosted by Lova Ladiva would return.[6] New features such as the Nicky Phone and each Maxi Challenge winner earning €1,000 were also announced.[6][7] To coincide with the Paris 2024 Olympics, France Télévisions producer Alexandra Redde-Amiel and Endemol producer Nicolas Missoffe revealed that the season would feature an episode dedicated to the Olympic Games.[6][7] Like Season 2, a live finale at Le Grand Rex was also confirmed.[6]
On April 26, "Meet The Queen" interviews premiered.[4] On May 6, a premiere date of May 31 was announced.[1]
