Season 1 of Drag Race Holland was officially announced via Videoland's Instagram on July 26, 2020.[1] The show airs on Videoland and select territories on WOWPresents Plus.

It was confirmed that 10 new queens would be competing to become Holland's First Drag Superstar. The winner of Drag Race Holland received a crown, scepter and necklace provided by Fierce Drag Jewels, a cover shoot and 10-page feature in Dutch Cosmopolitan, and a dress by Dutch designer Claes Iversen worth €18.000 (≈ $21.351 USD).[2]

At the end of the season, Envy Peru was crowned as the first Dutch Drag Race Superstar, with Janey Jacké as runner-up.

On November 19, 2020, it was revealed all the girls were coming back for an unofficial Reunion via the Dutch podcast 'Pruikentijd' ('Wigtime'). The podcast launched November 26, 2020 and was later uploaded to YouTube. Ma'Ma Queen was crowned this season's Miss Congeniality during the podcast.

About The Show

In Drag Race Holland ten candidates have to prove that they are the most beautiful, best, most original and creative drag queen in the Netherlands. They do this every episode in three consecutive parts: the mini-challenge, the maxi-challenge and the runway. After the judges determine which two queens performed the least that week, they compete against each other in the all-deciding Lip-Sync-For-Your-Life-Battle. One queen has to leave the field every week, until there are only three left in the grand final. One of them will be the very first Drag Race Superstar in the Netherlands! The presentation is in the hands of Fred van Leer.

Summary:

In the first episode, 10 queens make their debut Werkroom entrance, and they all have the same dream: to become the first Dutch Drag Superstar! There can only be 1 winner and the battle to the top has just begun. The queens are challenged to hold their breath as they are immediately thrown into the deep end for their first photoshoot. And for the runway, the queens are tasked with creating a legendary look based on their favorite queen.

Summary:

The competition has started. The queens have found themselves in an emotional rollercoaster, where they get in each other's hair and old pain comes up. Fortunately, the laughing muscles are also trained when they make a hilarious drag workout video together with the Jane Fonda from the low countries. On the Runway, the queens must show their true face.

De competitie is losgebarsten. De queens zijn in een emotionele rollercoaster beland, waarbij ze elkaar in de haren vliegen en er oude pijn naar boven komt. Gelukkig worden de lachspieren ook getraind als ze samen met de Jane Fonda van de lage landen een hilarische drag work-out video maken. Op de Runway moeten de queens hun ware gezicht tonen.

Summary:

After the tumultuous ending from the previous episode, the knives have been sharpened extra sharp because in this competition, there is only 1 that can stand in the spotlight. The queens act it out in a scene from the new series: Gooische Drags. Actor Rick Paul van Mulligen tries to teach them the tricks of the trade. And the runway has a Dutch touch: Miss Holland.

Na het tumultueuze einde van de vorige aflevering zijn de messen extra scherp geslepen, want er is er maar één die in de schijnwerpers kan staan. Summary:

The queens have to perform like their lives depend on it. Mayday, the mother of the dragscene, comes by to throw some shade with the girls, because 'reading is fundamental!'. The queens are prepared for a dance battle by Pride-ambassador Amber Vineyard. On the runway, the queens have to sparkle like never before, but the outcome has an unexpected twist.

Summary:

The queens go on a date with a desirable bachelor, and they must do everything to save the date — desserts are flying and the

queens are ready for battle. Until now the queens have had to operate solo, but for this runway, they must work as duos!

De queens gaan op date met een begerenswaardige vrijgezel. Omdat dit totaal in de soep dreigt te lopen, moeten ze alles op alles zetten 'to save the date'. De toetjes vliegen in het rond en alle ledematen worden in de strijd gegooid. Summary:

Who will be crowned the first Dutch Drag Race Superstar? The final queens are determined to fight for their lives and snatch the crown once and for all. They pay tribute to RuPaul with a special lip-sync medley, and on the Runway, they appear in their ultimate best drag. This is the final moment they can show their very best look to Fred, the jury, and some very special guests.

Welke queen wordt gekroond tot de eerste Nederlandse Drag Race Superstar? De finalisten zijn vastbesloten dat de felbegeerde kroon in hun pruik thuishoort. Ze gaan het gevecht van hun leven aan en trekken alles uit de kast. De queens brengen met een speciale lipsync-medley een ode aan Rupaul himself. En op de Runway verschijnen ze in hun 'ultieme Best Drag'. Dit is de allerlaatste keer dat zij hun beste look laten zien aan Fred, de jury en een aantal heel speciale gasten.

Pruikentijd (the Dutch Drag Race podcast) in partnership with Podcast en Chill and VondelCS hosted a live reunion with Envy Peru, Janey Jacké, Ma'MaQueen, Abby OMG, ChelseaBoy, Sederginne, Madame Madness, Megan Schoonbrood, Patty Pam-Pam and Roem. Hosted by GJ Kooijman, Marco Dreijer and David Mondeel; they caught up about the first season of Drag Race Holland (available on Videoland and WOW Presents Plus). The lipsyncs, the challenges, the runways and the drama: it was all discussed in a lively talkshow! And we crown the first Dutch Miss Congeniality, voted by the queens themselves.
