The third season of Drag Race Italia was first teased on March 22, 2023 when World of Wonder published a casting call for Italian drag artists via social media accounts. Casting opened on March 22, 2023, with deadline of March 27 of that same year.[5] In that same instance, it was confirmed that the season would air on Paramount+ instead of Discovery+ like the first two seasons, and that the judging panel may change.[5]

On June 7, 2023, it was announced by the Italian website biccy.it that Tommaso Zorzi would not be returning as a judge for the season. The same announcement also revealed two new judges: Paola Iezzi (who previously appeared as a guest judge on the second season) and Paolo Camilli.[4]

On August 28, 2023, the premiere date of the season was confirmed to be October 13, 2023.[1] The cast was subsequently announced on September 18, 2023.[6][7]

The winner of the season was Lina Galore, with Melissa Bianchini as the runner-up, Silvana Della Magliana winning the title of Miss Congeniality and Morgana Cosmica winning the title of TikTok Fan Favourite.

Nel gran finale corona e scettro sono ormai vicini. E' giunto però il tempo di sfoderare l'artiglieria pesante: nella Mini Challenge le regine diventano pop star mondiali in un videoclip musicale di un brano inedito scritto da loro.
