The first season of Drag Race México was first teased on August 8, 2022 when World of Wonder published a casting call for Mexican drag artists through their official accounts, with a deadline of September 9 of that same year. However, the series wasn't officially confirmed until December 12, 2022, along with the announcement that it would air on MTV and Paramount+ in Mexico.[1][2]

On May 7, 2023, a teaser was revealed at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards, showcasing the series' logo and confirming that the season would be released on 2023. Furthermore, on May 12, 2023, Lolita Banana and Valentina were announced as the series' hosts during RuPaul's DragCon.[3][4]

On May 24, 2023, the Meet The Queens for the season was held through TikTok Live, where the eleven contestants that would be competing to become México's First Drag Superstar were unveiled. The promo theme was Red. Additionally, the full release date for the season was stated at the end of the Live to be June 22, 2023.[5]

At the end of the twelfth episode, Cristian Peralta was crowned México's First Drag Superstar, with Gala Varo, Matraka and Regina Voce placing as Runners-Up. Lady Kero won the title of Miss Simpatía at the reunion, while Matraka was awarded the title of Fan Favorite.

About The Show[]

Drag Race México is hosted by legends Valentina and Lolita Banana. Cheer the 11 Queens on as they walk the runway, Kiki in the Werk Room, lip sync for their lives, and, of course, participate in iconic challenges like Snatch Game.

The queens are faced with a Maxi Challenge that will test their originality and their ability to design with unconventional materials (and make them work all night long).
