Drag Race Thailand is a sister series to RuPaul's Drag Race where contestants are cast to compete against one another to challenge their abilities as drag artists and entertainers. This series is co-hosted by Art Arya and Pangina Heals.
Season 1 and its cast was announced on January 14, 2018 and began airing on Thai television on February 15, 2018. Ten contestants competed for the chance to win 500.000฿ and a crown & scepter from Fierce Drag Jewels. Natalia Pliacam became the first winner of the new franchise cementing herself in Drag Race history as the first ever title holder of Thailand's Next Drag Superstar.
Season 2 was announced shortly after the conclusion of the first season and moved into production shortly after in March 2018. The announcement for the cast this season took place on the very first episode. Only a vague idea of the cast was known from a Casting Special featuring various members of the top 40 contestants that was distributed online on January 7, 2019. The new season began airing on Thai television on January 11, 2019 where fourteen contestants competed for the chance to win 500.000฿ and a crown & scepter from Fierce Drag Jewels. Angele Anang won the season and title of Thailand's Next Drag Superstar while pushing boundaries in the Drag Race franchise; winning 6 challenges in a single season and being the first winner who is a trans woman.
