Season 1 of Drag Race Thailand premiered on February 15, 2018, on LINE TV. The show is hosted by Art Arya and Pangina Heals.

The first season featured 10 contestants who competed for the title of "Thailand's First Drag Superstar", a crown and scepter from Fierce Drag Jewels and a cash prize of ฿500,000 (≈ $16,000 USD).

The winner of the first season of Drag Race Thailand was Natalia Pliacam, with Année Maywong and Dearis Doll placing as the runners-up and B Ella winning Miss Congeniality.

Trivia[]

  • Season 1 of Drag Race Thailand is:
    • The first Drag Race ever to have separated main challenge winner and runway challenge winner.
    • The third non-All Stars season where every queen was in the bottom at least once.
    • The third season of Drag Race to have a plus sized queen in the Top 3, and the first to have a plus-sized queen win the competition.
    • The season with the lowest cash prize in the history of the franchise, at 15,920.
  • Amadiva is the first queen ever to be in both double shantay and double elimination.
    • She was followed by Kana Warrior, although Kana was eliminated first, and then returned and had a double shantay with Angele Anang
  • JAJA is the only queen to not be from Thailand, she is from the Philippines and does not actually speak Thai.
  • Meannie Minaj is the first transgender queen on Drag Race Thailand, and the second queen to enter as an openly trans woman on Drag Race (See: Peppermint).
  • Morrigan is the youngest queen to ever compete on any Drag Race, at 18 years of age.
  • Born This Way and Toxic are the third and fourth songs to be used in two different lipsyncs, they were first used on Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race.
  • The studio set was built in one day.
  • The lip sync assassin of Drag Race Thailand Season 1 is Dearis Doll. Dearis eliminated Morrigan and B Ella.
  • Episode 3 was recorded on January 15th, 2018, as Morrigan's elimination was on her birthday.
  • Drag Race Thailand is the only international spin-off to not follow the Official Drag Race logo format
    • This is due to the fact that the letter "G" is the stylized letter of the logo instead of it being the letter "R"
  • Thailand Season 1 is the first international season to have a double shantay.
  • The season premiered in the U.S. on May 4th, 2018, almost a month after it's Finale, on the Wow Presents Plus app[1].
    • However, nowadays, the season has been removed from the streaming platform, making the season the only season which is not available to watch legally.
