The Facebook Fan Vote was a vote held on Facebook during the casting of a season of RuPaul's Drag Race, the drag performer with the most amount of votes would pass the audition process and be invited to compete on the show.
Nina Flowers was the first contestant to win the audience vote and got to compete on Season 1.[1]
On May 1, 2009, the casting website for Season 2 opened, allowing prospective contestants to create user profiles and upload videos of themselves to be voted on by viewers; the applicant collecting the most votes being invited to become a contestant of the second season. At the end of the online casting period, Jessica Wild had collected the most votes and was announced as being a season two contestant.[2]
In June 2012, Sharon Needles won the Facebook vote to appear as a contestant on All Stars, but declined, as the reigning champion, to participate in the competition. Pandora Boxx came in second place on the All Stars Fan Vote.
Adore Delano received the most votes to compete in Season 5, but due to "undisclosed reasons", wasn't selected. Thus, Penny Tration, with more than 10,000 votes, got selected to compete.[3]
Darienne Lake was the last contestant to receive the fan vote, and competed on Season 6.[4]
