The Girl Group Challenge is a Maxi Challenge where the contestants perform as girl groups to a recorded track, typically with their own personalized verses. The girl groups are typically responsible to come up with choreography, a team name and a cohesive look. The challenge is typically judged in teams, placing heavy emphasis on their cohesion as a girl group, with some seasons even deeming the entire winning girl group as the winner of the challenge.
Although first being introduced on Season 1, the modern rendition of the challenge featuring unique verses would first appear on Season 6.
