Dahlia Sin is an American drag performer and one of the Season 12 contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Drag Name Origin[]

Dahlia is a reference to the Black Dahlia, she wanted a name who looks like how she saw herself, a dark beauty, and "Sin" is a reference to the seven deadly sins.[3]

Drag Family[]

Dahlia was a member of the now-defunct Haus of Aja, with Season 9 and All Stars 3 contestant Aja being her drag mother. She has three drag sisters: Kandy Muse, Janelle No.5, and Momo Shade (formerly). Dahlia met MoMo through facebook in 2012 and then met with Aja. Aja put her into drag for the first time and went to a party hosted by singer Macy Rodman called Bathsalts.

Since the Haus of Aja broke up in 2018, Dahlia, Kandy and Janelle created a new house called the Doll Haus. Despite no longer being in a house with Aja, the Doll Haus still claim her as being their drag mother.

  • Dahlia is the drag daughter of Season 9 and All-Stars 3 contestant Aja.
  • Dahlia was the most followed Season 12 contestant before the cast reveal and also the first from the cast to have reached 100,000 followers on Instagram.
  • Dahlia started doing drag in 2012,[4] the same year as castmates Gigi Goode and Aiden Zhane.
  • Dahlia has an identical twin brother, who is also gay.[5]
  • After the lip-sync to "Problem" on Episode 3, Ariana Grande, the singer of "Problem", started following her on Instagram.
  • After being eliminated, Dahlia made mini cameos on Episodes 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 of Season 12's Gay's Anatomy, Snatch Game, Droop, Choices 2020, One-Queen Show, and the RuPaul's Drag Race Live! Rumix as the "fierce brocc-ally".
    • This makes Dahlia the first contestant to make a cameo in more than two challenges.
  • If Dahlia would have made it to the Snatch Game episode, she would have done Jeffree Star.[6]
  • In 2018 prior to either of them being cast on Drag Race, Dahlia and her drag sister Kandy Muse guest-hosted an episode of Fashion Photo RuView, becoming the first hosts of the web series that had not (at that time) competed on RuPaul's Drag Race, although both have now appeared on the show.
  • Dahlia is the only queen in the "Porkchop Loading Dock" from Season 13's premiere to not be using her promo, rather she was shown in her "broc-ally" outfit.
  • Originally, Kandy Muse was cast for Season 12, but she had to drop out, and she was replaced by Dahlia Sin.
  • Not counting returning first-outs Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Shangela, Dahlia is the most followed first-out contestant on Instagram.
