Alyssa Hunter is a Puerto Rican drag performer and one of the contestants of the fourteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

About

The huntress is on the prowl! As one of the most celebrated pageant queens from Puerto Rico, Alyssa knows her way around a runway and delivers stunning looks wherever she goes. She's here to prove that not only can she give a fierce lewk, but she has the performance chops to bring the crown back to her hometown.[7]

Drag Name Origin

Alyssa's drag name is inspired by Miss USA winner Alyssa Campanella as well as Alyssa Edwards, while she lifted her last name from Miss Continential winner Danielle Hunter.[8]

  • Alyssa entered her first pageant at 16 years old, and ended up winning. She lied about her age while competing, saying that she was 18.[5]
  • Alyssa and Daya Betty have the same birthday.
  • Her track record is identical to season 12's Rock M. Sakura and season 7's Jasmine Masters.
  • Alyssa and her father came out to each other within the same conversation.
    • At age 12, after her parents divorced, she came out to her father who in turn also revealed his homosexuality, which she discussed on Whatcha Packin’. [9]
    • In the same Whatcha Packin’, she revealed that her mother competed in Miss Puerto Rico the year before she was born.
  • In her lip sync against Kerri Colby, she had a failed money gun prop.
  • Like her namesake and inspiration Alyssa Edwards, Alyssa was also eliminated on an Acting Challenge.
  • Alyssa is the only queen from Season 14 to have lip synced once the entire season.
