The Red Rabbit Duo (individually known as Gala Varo and Génesis Faux) are Mexican drag performers and contestants on the second season of the YouTube show La Más Draga.
Red Rabbit Duo was born as a project that allowed the mixture of scenic disciplines, including the circus, with the art of drag. Red Rabbit Duo's specialty is precisely the aerial arts of the contemporary circus combined with a very extravagant fashion.[6]
Drag Name Origin[]
Red Rabbit Duo: Gala and Génesis wanted a name akin to Charlie's Angels, with their characters being secret agents. They chose Red Rabbit to represent the supposed boss of the two, with Duo being added to showcase their duality.[7]
Gala Varo: The name Gala comes from the wife of Salvador Dalí, Gala Dalí, while Varo comes from the Spanish artist, Remedios Varo. Gala Varo considers both of them as huge inspirations for her character.[8]
Génesis Faux: Génesis came up with her name during a drag workshop. She went with Génesis (which also means creation) to represent the beginning of her drag journey. Faux comes from everything on her being fake.[9]

Trivia[]
They are the first ever duo to participate in an aired drag competition. They would be followed by Isabella y Catalina.
Gala Varo previously went by Gala Fitz, in reference to American singer, Ella Fitzgerald. This is also the name she went by during her time on the show.[10]
Red Rabbit Duo and Sophia Jiménez were the first contestants from the state of Jalisco to compete on La Más Draga.
They were the only main challenge winners from their season to not reach the finale.
As revealed on the reunion, they had only been doing drag for 10 months prior to their participation on the show.[11]
Gala has added that, when they auditioned for the show, she had only been doing drag for around 6 months.[12]
Red Rabbit Duo once opened for Adore Delano, Laganja Estranja and Milk at a 2018 gig in Guadalajara. This was one of their first drag performances.[12]
Red Rabbit Duo, alongside Aviesc Who? and Becky D'Vich, founded the Coven D'Red?, a drag house in Guadalajara.[13]
The duo met Aviesc through a mutual friend of Gala's, who connected them after another designer failed to deliver some looks that the duo had commissioned.[12]
In fact, Aviesc designed the majority of the runway looks that Red Rabbit Duo used on La Más Draga.[15]
Gala revealed that she and Soro Nasty engaged in a short-lived romantic affair during the filming of La Más Draga (Season 2), despite both being in relationships at the time. However, their involvement did not lead to any further developments.[12]
The project of Red Rabbit Duo is no longer active, as they decided to split ways and pursue their own, individual drag careers.[4]
Génesis would later reveal that this separation was due to several reasons, among them creative differences about the project, monetary issues and personal conflicts between the two.[4]
Additionally, Génesis indicated that they had been experiencing these issues even before their appearance on the show, but that they didn't decide to split until mid 2020.[4]
When the casting call for La Más Draga (Season 4) dropped, Gala inquired with the producers about the possibility of auditioning once again, though this time as an individual contestant. However, they informed her that they were exclusively seeking new participants.[12]
With an average score of 11.75, Red Rabbit Duo holds the worst track record out of any contestant in La Más Draga with at least one main challenge win.
