Yari Zabeth Mejía López,[1] more commonly known simply as Yari Mejía, is a Mexican makeup artist, hair stylist, fashion designer, singer and drag artist. She is also known for being a regular judge on La Más Draga.
Biography[]
Born in Mexico City, Yari Mejía has commented in several interviews that from a very young age she found her passion in makeup, which prompted her to become a professional makeup artist. Aware of her great talent, in 2012, Yari Mejia decided to promote her work by opening an account on Instagram, where she posted photos of her best works. Thus, Yari Mejía began to become a makeup influencer and different cosmetic brands, as well as fashion designers, began to look for her to collaborate.
Before being in front of the cameras, Yari stood out while backstage for her work as a hairdresser and her 25 years of experience are the proof of her professionalism, always adding fresh and modern touches to each job she does. In addition to her professional studies in Mexico, she also has studied abroad in Los Angeles, Brazil, Japan and France.
She has worked for countless television productions such as: Grammys, Premios Lo Nuestro, MTV Awards, La Voz Mexico, Bailando Por Un Sueño, Mexico Diseña, as well as for some theater, cinema, social and editorial works in magazines such as Vanidades, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Quién, Hola, Marie Claire, Esquire and Estilo DF.
The recognition of her work has led her to be at the side of great Mexican and international personalities such as: Laura Pausini, Ximena Navarrete, Becky G, RBD, Kit Harington (Game Of Thrones), and Paz Vega, among many more who trust their hair and makeup in the hands of Yari Mejia.[5][6]

Trivia[]
- Just like with Johnny Carmona and Letal, the show was planned from the beginning with Yari in mind.[7]
- However, Yari initially did not like the idea of being a judge on the show and instead wanted to assist on the production side of things. The producers later convinced her to be a judge based on her makeup expertise and charisma.[8]
- Yari has admitted to being considerably more laidback and withdrawn in the earlier seasons due to being nervous about all the exposure. It wasn't until Season 3 that she began to feel more comfortable in her position as a judge.[8]
- She appeared as a backup dancer on Lorena Herrera's music video for Masoquista.[9]
- Yari identifies as asexual.[10]
- Yari has revealed that she and her sister were both verbally and physically assaulted following the airing of Yari's negative critiques to Amelia on Season 2. This incident also forced her to move out of her original residence.[11]
- She did not have any singing experience prior to Season 2, making her debut for Posa Que Posa, one of the runway songs of the season.[12]
- Initially, the producers misled Yari by informing her that she was simply recording a demo for another artist. However, this turned out to be untrue, as the producers had already harbored intentions of launching Yari's own music career.[8]
- Since then, she has been featured in new runway songs for each subsequent season, as well as in the respective music videos.
