Gigi Era is an Australia-based Filipino drag performer and one of the contestants of the first season of Drag Race Philippines.
About
Gigi Era is the diva from Down Under. Hailing from Melbourne, she is popular in the Australian drag scene for her death-defying stunts and fabulous real-hair wigs. Gigi was a former dancer and airplane cabin crew member based out of Dubai. She is now back in the Philippines representing her hometown, Davao.[4]
Drag Name Origin
Gigi Era comes from a term in Swardspeak that refers to someone who enjoys flattering people. Alternatively, she also explained that "Gigi" is a simplification of the Filipino term for mackerel scad, galunggong, while "Era" is her mother's middle name.[5]

- She is the second contestant of the Drag Race franchise to be named Gigi, after Gigi Goode.
- In her Meet the Queens video, Gigi Era makes a pun about breasts by referencing the Filipino informative public affairs show Kay Susan Tayo!.[1]
- The name 'Susan' sounds nearly like the Filipino word "suso", which translates to "breast" in English.
- In an interview for Gay Times, Gigi Era revealed that she would have impersonated SexBomb Girls member Aira Bermudez had she made it to Snatch Game.[6]
