Gigi Goode is the stage name of Gigi Geggie,[1][2] a Los Angeles drag queen, model, makeup artist, performer, and one of the Season 12 runners-up of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Drag Name Origin

"Gigi" comes from her real last name, Geggie. "Goode" is a reference to the character "Fiona Goode" (Jessica Lange) from the third season of the TV series American Horror Story.[4]

Trivia

  • Gigi uses she/her pronouns both in and out of drag after coming out as transfem non-binary through an IGTV on her Instagram on August 29, 2021.
  • Gigi has also stated that she no longer feels the need to go by her legal name, and that she would rather be referred to as just "Gigi" both in and out of drag. She has referred to her legal name as a "deadname" to her as a non-binary person.
  • Her uncle taught her about gay culture and introduced her to who RuPaul is.
  • Gigi came out as genderfluid during the taping of the show, saying, "I’ve always kind of teetered between male and female throughout my whole life."
  • Gigi Goode first started performing in drag on her 15th birthday.
  • Contrary to popular belief, she has no drag mother or drag family.
    • However, she is currently living with the House Of Avalon in Los Angeles, and considers them family. She also considers Rosy Thorn and Rubber Child to be her close drag sisters along with the House of Avalon.

  • She is the third contestant to win four challenges, on a regular season, after Sharon Needles and Shea Couleé.
    • She is the second queen to win four challenges in a season, and not win the season, after Shea Couleé.

  • She won more money in cash prizes than Bebe Zahara Benet did after winning Season 1 and Tyra Sanchez after winning Season 2.
  • There have been rumors about Gigi dating her fellow cast mate Crystal Methyd. Gigi and Crystal like to troll fans online about them being in a relationship.
    • However, the rumors are false, since Crystal confirmed in a video that she has a boyfriend, and Gigi was in LA and Crystal was in Missouri at the time. The pair are nothing but close friends.[5]
  • She is the second contestant with the exact age required to enter the show (21, at the time of filming), to make it to finale, and not win the season. (The first one being Naomi Smalls on Season 8).
  • She auditioned for Drag Race at 18 as a joke, knowing that she would not get on due to her age.
  • Gigi reached 1 million followers on Instagram on July 27, 2020. She is the 32nd contestant to reach this milestone.
    • She is also the first Season 12 contestant to reach 1 million followers on Instagram.
  • Gigi appeared in Rihanna's 2020 SavagexFenty show along with Jaida Essence Hall and Shea Couleé. She was also a non-binary model for the SavagexFenty Pride 2021 collection.
  • Gigi is the first contestant to win two Rusical challenges, and the first to win two in a single season.
  • Gigi won the 2020 People's Choice Award for "Choice Competition Contestant."
  • Gigi has stated that one of her biggest passions and talents is doing hair, she styles all of her own wigs and most of the wigs worn by her drag sisters. She designed most of Symone's hair for Season 13, including her promo hair, her top 4 runway hair, and all of her finale hair, along with several others worn on the runway.
  • Gigi’s backup for Snatch Game was Kristen Stewart from Twilight, though production wanted her to do James Charles.[citation needed]
  • She was featured on a Halloween makeup Ad campaign as a vampire, that is still used today.
  • Gigi is the second queen to be in three non elimination lip-syncs, after Eureka O'Hara on Season 10.
  • Gigi has a collection of lip products in collaboration with Christian Audette. Many Drag Race alum have been supportive of the line and have used them.
  • Gigi recently announced on an IGTV, that she had gone through Facial Feminisation Surgery and that she now identifies as Trans/Non-Binary.
