Mini Challenge

Mini Challenges were introduced during the second season of the show, they take place before the maxi challenge and are usually to test the queens' creativity and ability to improvise, and the winners of these mini challenges are usually rewarded with a small advantage for the main challenge, like assigning the work stations in the Werk Room or extra points in the episode's final ranking.

Maxi Challenge & Runway

Most of the main challenges of the show consist in Runway Presentation Challenges, although there have also been Design Challenges, Makeovers and Acting Challenges. After (or sometimes before) the maxi challenges a runway section takes place, usually with a theme revolving around the same topic of the challenge. The show focuses on showcasing Mexican culture throught drag, with each episode centering around a different aspect of Mexico's folklore. Starting from the second season, the judges usually give out scores to each contestant, based on their performance both in the maxi challenge and their look on the runway. The contestant(s) with the highest score then wins the challenge, and the contestants (usually two) with the lowest score are up for elimination and have to face a lip sync battle to save themselves.

Lip Sync

See: List of Lip Sync Performances/La Más Draga

A Reto de Doblaje, also called a Chou de Doblaje or Show de Doblaje is the most common style of lip sync used on the show.

At the end of each episode, the two (or sometimes three or four) contestants who performed worst in that week's challenge will be placed up for elimination, indicating that they must lip sync to stay in the competition.

Following the lip sync, the judges hold a sign with the face of the contestant they want to save, and the contestant who receives the most votes will stay. On Season 3, this choice was entrusted in just the guest judge of the week. In the case of particularly good lip syncs, both contestants may be saved by the judges, and in the case of particularly poor lip syncs, both contestants may be eliminated. It has now become tradition for the show to have a double save on the premiere of every season.

Elimination

After the lip sync, the eliminated contestant will place a portrait of themselves in the Drag Altar (inspired by the typical Altar de muertos used in the Day of the Dead holiday), meaning that they "died" in the competition. This is why the Reunion episode is called Día de Muertas, as the "dead" contestants come back to visit one last time.
