Lady Red Couture, also known as simply Lady Red, was the drag persona of Kareemia Baines, (May 30, 1977 — July 25, 2020) a transgender drag artist hailing from West Hollywood. She formally co-starred in the gay hit web series, "Hey Qween!", hosted by Jonny McGovern and herself. She had auditioned for RuPaul's Drag Race, but was never casted.
Kareemia tragically passed away from complications of Cyclic vomiting syndrome on July 25th, 2020. Originally stated to be in a state of recovery from this fatal syndrome, she relapsed and became gravely ill, before later dying.
Lady Red is remembered solely for leaving a massive legacy in the West Hollywood drag scene, being an inspiring role-model for the gay and transgender community, and especially leaving a legacy on "Hey Qween!", since she had co-host status on the show.
After her death. many Drag Race alumni went to social media to mourn and pay dear respect to Lady Red, including Jonny McGovern himself. Notable queens included Trixie Mattel, Shangela, Sasha Velour, Katya, and Bob The Drag Queen.
She was rumored to have been cast on Season 13. These rumors have not yet been confirmed, but Lady Red passed away right before filming began.
In November 2020, a Hey Qween! episode called "The Lady Red Memorial Special" aired. In the episode, Latrice Royale, Honey Davenport, Peppermint, Sherry Vine, Jackie Beat, and The Vixen shared their memories of Lady Red Couture.
