Luquisha Lubamba is an Italian drag performer and singer, as well as one of the contestants of the first season of Drag Race Italia.
Drag Name Origin[]
Luquisha is the made up female version of her real name. "Lubamba" comes from the name of Italian model, showgirl and TV presenter Sylvie Lubamba.[4]

- Luquisha started doing drag in 2014. After competing in a talent show, the club managers asked her to perform there regularly.[5]
- Luquisha's biggest drag inspiration is Raffaella Carrà, while her style is influenced by Donatella Versace and Jeremy Scott.[5]
- Luquisha's favorite music icons are Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Cher, Kylie Minogue, and most especially, Britney Spears. She also enjoys k-pop and Kim Petras.[5]
- Coming into her season, the fellow contestant Luquisha feared the most was Farida Kant.[5]
- Luquisha's favorite contestant from RuPaul's Drag Race is Kandy Muse.[5]
- Coincidentally, Luquisha is the second queen to have a fakeout elimination, the first being Kandy Muse. Both were told "sashay away" before being called back to stay in the competition.
- Luquisha calls her fans "lubimbe", a portmanteau of "Lubamba" with the word "bimbe", which means "babes" in Italian.[6]
- She is one of the few queens who never placed safe and was not eliminated in the first episode. Her track record is made up of low, bottom, and high placements.
- One of her favorite icons is the Italian singer and dancer Raffaella Carrà.[7]
