Marisol González Casas,[1] more commonly known simply as Marisol González, is a Mexican actress, TV personality and beauty pageant titleholder. She is also known for hosting the sixth season of La Más Draga, as well as the first season of La Más Draga: Solo Las Más, the All Stars edition of the show.
Marisol González was born on March 12, 1983 on the state of Coahuila, though she later moved to Mexico City. She studied at the Iberoamerican University of Torreón, focusing on communication studies. In 2002 she was the winner of the Nuestra Belleza México beauty pageant, gaining the opportunity to represent Mexico in Miss Universe 2003, held in Panama, at the age of 20.
After Miss Universe, Marisol decided to pursue an acting career, which began with her studying at the CEA of Televisa. She would then make her acting debut in 2005 in the telenovela Contra Viento y Marea. Some of her other acting credits include La Verdad Oculta, Vecinos and RBD: La Familia.
In 2008, her career took a turn when she started working as a journalist for the Mexican sports channel Televisa Deportes, acting as the host for the broadcasts of the SuperBowl XLII and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. These participations in the sports industry made her one of the most popular hosts of Mexican television.
Regarding her personal life, Marisol got married in 2014 with the soccer player Rafael Márquez Lugo, with whom she has two daughters: Marisol and Luciana Márquez González. Among the guests to the wedding were several other TV and sports personalities.[3][4]
Unlike Karla and Lorena, however, Marisol was not a contestant in the show but rather the co-host for the backstage segments.
Additionally, she is also the only one to appear in this show before hosting La Más Draga.
As confirmed by the producers, Marisol's exceedingly tight schedule resulted in her overall involvement with the season being significantly more limited in comparison to all previous hosts.[5][6]
Because of this, she was the first host of La Más Draga to not be present at their respective reunion, with Alexis 3XL taking over for her.
While it was initially announced that Marisol was not able to have an original song for the season like all previous hosts, she still recorded a remixed version of Pasele alongside Fifí Estah. They performed it together at the finale as well.
Marisol is the first La Más Draga host to announce to two different finalists.
As the host of the semifinals from La Más Draga: Solo Las Más (Season 1), Marisol was the only host from the season to directly remove contestants from the competition.
