Princess Poppy is a former American drag performer and one of the contestants of the fifteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Drag Name Origin[]

"Princess" was picked because she feels her drag is part of royalty, and "Poppy" comes from the alliteration of the letter "P" - she wanted a name with "PP" as initials.

  • Poppy has a drag daughter named Blaysia Erotica.[3]
  • Poppy was going to play Joan Rivers on the Snatch Game; her backup choice was Tammy Faye Bakker.
  • Poppy attempted to fake a COVID test to start filming Season 15 as her PCR test was coming out positive even though she was not feeling sick for a while and was already non infective. However, it didn't work.[4]
  • Following Season 15's Premiere, Poppy began removing herself from the public eye. On April 5, 2023, Poppy did her first interview since the show's premiere, where she stated that "I think people put so much emphasis on success and fame, and it’s OK to not want to be famous. It’s totally valid to not want to be known by a bunch of people. That’s just not what I want." She went on to say that she will be taking a step back from doing drag, and, while Princess Poppy is never truly going away, live drag performances from her will be less frequent.[5]
  • Princess Poppy officially retired her drag career in one final interview, done at DragCon 2023.
    • It was quoted however in an Entertainment Weekly interview she had stressed that "Princess Poppy is never going to go away," and that she's definitely "not quitting drag" altogether.
    • On her Instagram profile, she wrote; "ex drag queen" in the bio.[6]
  • Poppy was present at the 2024 Emmy Awards alongside the cast of Season 15 dressed as a Green Goblin.[7]
  • Poppy has stated she will not go back for All Stars.[8]
