The fourteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race was unofficially announced on November 23, 2020 when World of Wonder announced Season 14's casting period had begun and would end January 15, 2021.
Production of Season 14 began in early-May 2021 with quarantine for the contestants beginning on May 12, 2021. Filming for the season lasted until late-June with the queens retuning to social media on July 2, 2021.
The cast of Season 14 was officially announced on December 2, 2021 in a special RuVeal hosted by Season 13 winner Symone that aired on VH1.[1] The promo theme was Candy Land, and the RuVeal theme was Arcade. The same day, Season 14's premiere date of January 7, 2022 was announced.
On April 7, 2022, it was announced that the cash prize the Winner would receive would be upped from $100,000 to $150,000, while the Runner-up would receive $50,000.[2] It marks the first time the prize money has been increased since Season 4, which aired 10 years before Season 14.
On April 22, 2022, Willow Pill was crowned as the Winner of Season 14, with Lady Camden placing as Runner Up and Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Bosco, and Daya Betty being eliminated at the finale. Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté won the title of Miss Congeniality, as voted by her fellow contestants.
