RuPaul's Drag Race Holi-Slay Spectacular is a purely promotional spin-off episode that aired on December 7, 2018. Eight favorite queens competed for the title of "America's first Drag Race Xmas Queen". The cast members and the premiere date were revealed on November 1, 2018, on VH1's website.
The spin-off welcomes back "franchise favorites":
- Eureka from Season 9 and 10
- Jasmine Masters from Season 7
- Kim Chi from Season 8
- Latrice Royale from Season 4 and All Stars 1
- Mayhem Miller from Season 10
- Shangela from Season 2, Season 3, and All Stars 3
- Sonique from Season 2,
- Trixie Mattel from Season 7 and All Stars 3.
The Christmas contestants were tasked to lip-sync to original holiday music from RuPaul’s holiday albums: the classic "Slay Belles" and his new album "Christmas Party". There will be no shortage of looks and gags, accompanied by a maxi challenge choreographed by Todrick Hall alongside with several runways!
