RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador was an event promoted by truTV UK at Cafe de Paris in London to coincide with the launch of the show on the network.[1] Auditions opened on May 7, 2015, with due application date of May 19, 2015.[2] To enter the competition, applicants were asked to record an YouTube video saying why they should to be RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador and lip sync to RuPaul's "Cover Girl".[3] The event was streamed live on truTV's Periscope and uploaded on YouTube. However, it is almost impossible to find footage of the event.

Ninety-seven drag performers from the UK auditioned,[4] including Baga Chipz,[5] Cheddar Gorgeous,[4] Divina De Campo,[6] and Vinegar Strokes,[7] but were not selected. Although the competition would initially only feature 20 contestants, Joe Black got selected last minute.[8]

The winner of the title of UK Ambassador received a series of exclusive vlogs to accompany RuPaul's Drag Race, an all-expenses paid trip of two days and two nights for two to Los Angeles in 4 star accommodation valued at £4,000,[2] a guest appearence on the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race[9] and a scepter. The series of videos were available on truTV's YouTube channel, but were removed.

Round 2: Lip Sync Battle[]

The queens battled it out in threes to RuPaul's singles "Glamazon" and "Cover Girl". The first lip sync pairing was made up by Anna Phylactic, Dinah Lux and Eddie OK Adams, who lip synced to "Cover Girl", the second lip sync group featured Fendi Laken, Grace Oni Smith and La Voix,[10] lip syncing to "Glamazon". Miss Cairo, Shefoam and The Vivienne, members of the third group, also lip synced to "Glamazon", mistakenly announced by the host as "Cover Girl".[24][23] Eddie OK Adams threw herself off the stage into a split, and the three queens in the first lip sync battle were called "all fantastic" by Jonathan, who also said Anna Phylactic could easily be Katie Price's grandmother. Dinah Lux impressed RuPaul by jumping into a split.[11] One member of each group advanced to the Top 3, made up by Eddie OK Adams, La Voix and The Vivienne.

Round 3: The Interview[]

In this last round, the top three finalists were asked by each judge a different question. Jonathan asked La Voix who she would invite to a dinner party, to which she responded "Jesus, Liza Minnelli and Fred Flintstone". This, along with her contagious smile and humor, was enough to make the audience laugh and impress Jonathan. Katie Price asked Eddie OK Adams which historical changes she would have made as the Queen Of England. Eddie's response was the dates that gay marriage was legalised in the UK, as it should have been sooner. “A fantastic answer,” claimed Katie, which was concurred by a chorus of cheers from around the room. RuPaul then asked The Vivienne who she thought should be the Queen of the World. The Vivienne responded that Michelle Visage should hold the title. The Vivienne spoke about how Michelle was an inspiration to her. Following the interview round, Eddie OK Adams was eliminated, while La Voix and The Vivienne were declared as the Top Two and lip synced to "Sissy That Walk". After the lip sync, The Vivienne was crowned RuPaul's Drag Race UK Ambassador.[10]
