The first season of RuPaul's Drag U premiered in the United States on July 19, 2010, on Logo, after Season 2 of the main series ended.
24 women (3 per episode) were selected and given drag makeovers and taught to access their "inner divas". Each of the women are judged and evaluated on her "Drag Point Average" (DPA):
- Drag transformation
- Performance
- Attitude adjustment
Each episode contestants with the highest DPA win a 5 year supply of NYX Cosmetics, a 2 night getaway spot at ACE Hotel & Swim Club at Palm Springs, 3 months of Chefs Diet meal delivery service and a portable spa from SpaBerry.
