Rubi comes from the gemstone Ruby, as she thinks everyone is a jewel and teachings of life polishes us to shine the brightest. Ocean was given to her by her drag mother, that said Rubi's blue eyes reminded her of the sea.[8]

- She won the Concurso de Novos Talentos da Capital Fashion Week in 2014, Destaque Moda Senac in 2018, and Prêmio Aldir Blanc in 2020 for her collaborations in the fashion scene in Brasília. She was also considered one of the 50 most influential personalities of the artistic scene of the Distrito Federal.[5][2][9]
- Her love for sewing and designing started when Rubi was 13 years old, playing with her parent's old sewing machine.[5][2]
