"I was about to go up for my first show ever, it was my first time in drag at a Talent Show in 2006 and the hostess asked me: "WHAT DO I INTRODUCE YOU AS?" I was left astonished because until that moment I realized l had no drag name so someone from the back of the dressing room yelled "SHAYRA" and l took it and it's been my name ever since. I never knew who baptized me hahahaha!"[3]
