Snatch Game is a main challenge, where contestants showcase their best celebrity impersonations in a game show setting. The Snatch Game challenge was first featured in Season 2 of RuPaul's Drag Race, where it became a popular fan favorite and was subsequently featured again in Seasons 3-11, and is a highly anticipated episode by viewers.
Snatch Game is a parody of the classic TV show, "Match Game", which aired from 1962 to 1991, where contestants attempted to match celebrities' answers to "fill-in-the-blank" questions. The term snatch is also used as a vulgar slang term referring to a woman's vagina, hence the name Snatch Game, since the contestants are (almost always) impersonating women.
Rules of Snatch Game
1. RuPaul shouts out a random question from a deck of cards and tells it to one of the guest stars/celebrities. The Queens must listen to the question and fill in the blank with their own answer.
2. The Queens' answers must match the guest celebrities in order to gain points.
3. If a Queen gets a correct, matching answer, one of the celebrities gets a point.
4. At the end of the game, the points do not matter and have no effect on judging, since the Queens are judged by their impersonation and comedy.
