Velvetine comes from the Velvetines Liquid Lipstick from Lime Crime, which she first discovered through an old friend of hers. She found the name appealing, particularly for its Spanish translation, Terciopelina, so she decided to make it her drag name.[4]

Trivia[]
Velvetine is the first contestant from any aired drag competition to participate in an All Stars season without having been featured on the main series of said franchise.
Her casting on La Más Draga: Solo Las Más was not necessarily her first involvement with the franchise, however, as she had already been featured on the pride single Ponte Chingona from the soundtrack album of La Más Draga (Season 3). She was also part of the lineup for the 2022 edition of La Más Orgullosa.
She would ultimately make her official debut on the main series on La Más Draga (Season 7), acting as one of the co-hosts of the auditions alongside C-Pher.
According to the producers of La Más Draga, had Velvetine auditioned for La Más Draga (Season 3), she would have been directly cast on the season as a secret contestant.[5]
The producers also expressed their disappointment when Velvetine chose not to audition, as they had been eagerly anticipating her participation after her performance during the live auditions for La Más Draga (Season 2), where she lost to Alexis 3XL and Job Star.[5][6]
Additionally, she is the drag mother of Shantelle.[9]
One of her biological siblings is music producer and composer Morenito de Fuego, who has collaborated with La Más Draga on every soundtrack album since La Más Draga (Season 4). Some of his tracks include Mexa, Maldito, Ritmito, Barrio, Borracha and Paisa.[10][11]
Paisa is also the first collaboration between both siblings in an official soundtrack album of La Más Draga.[11]
